The ACM Student Chapter at R.V. College of Engineering conducted an engaging Student Induction Program (SIP) to welcome the incoming batch of 2026. Designed to introduce new students to the chapter's vision, culture, and initiatives, the event provided a roadmap for how active involvement in ACM can shape their academic and technical journey.
The program was structured into four comprehensive sessions:
- Introduction to ACM & Community Culture: The team walked students through ACM’s mission, detailing the chapter's technical domains, past flagship events, hackathons, and research initiatives. The discussion highlighted why joining a developer community early matters and how it bridges the gap between academic coursework and industry-level engineering.
- Interactive Challenges & Gamification: To break the ice and test tech intuition, the team ran two interactive activities:
- Find the Tech Lie: A rapid-fire challenge where participants analyzed four technical statements to identify the deceptive one.
- Logo Guess: A visual puzzle featuring modified and tweaked tech company logos for students to decode.
- Find the Tech Lie: A rapid-fire challenge where participants analyzed four technical statements to identify the deceptive one.
- Student Participation & Recognition: The interactive rounds saw enthusiastic involvement across all batches, sparking lively discussions and quick thinking. High-scoring participants and standout problem-solvers were recognized with certificates of encouragement for their performance.
The induction wrapped up with an open discussion where the team addressed queries about upcoming workshops, project teams, and recruitment cycles, setting a dynamic tone for the year ahead.
